Learn to process a board to S4S with hand planes and hand tools, at the same time make a pair of winding sticks. Winding sticks are a shop made tool used in woodworking as a visual aid to gauge the flatness of one face side of a board.

We will process the material with hand planes, layout with marking knives, marking gauges, and squares, cut to length and rip to width with handsaws. There will be some chisel work, with a touch of some inlay work.

This an excellent primer for the beginning or even a seasoned woodworker looking to start or improve your hand tool skills.
