Make a handmade book to tell your own story! You will learn the steps of creating an according fold binded book.
“Tell your own story” Winged Memory Book.
Using 12’ x 12” sheets of paper, students will learn how to fold the paper to make pockets and using glue assemble them into a book. Book will include a hard cover and ribbon to keep book closed. Finished product opens like an according for display on a bureau. Students are asked to bring memorabilia and pictures to make their book their own once books are complete.
About the Instructor:
Linda Osborne began studying art in high school taking every class that she could and hasn’t stopped learning or making since then. Her studies included but were not limited to: pottery, jewelry, leather making, book making, drawing, painting and more. She took to jewelry quickly and developed her skills in silver soldering and lampworking beads through her college years. Earl adulthood brought her to begin two businesses, “By Hand Originals” Craft store featuring custom leather sandals and hand blown glass and silver jewelry and the other establishing a native plant restoration nursery. She ran her own craft store “By Hand Originals” and did craft show circuit for several years, extending her product lines to include macrame and featuring her handmade books. She remains active in the art world having been co-founder of both “Art off the wall” and “Art Tour 10”- Studio Trails throughout southwest Virginia.
