Teach at CCSA

Dear Artist,

Thank you for your interest in becoming part of our school.  We are currently developing our program to include year round classes appealing to both the local, regional and visiting populations. As part of the downtown revitalization effort taking place currently in Galax, we plan on including packages to stimulate the local economy.  By partnering with local lodging facilities, restaurants, area festivals and other areas of interest, we see Chestnut Creek School of the Arts becoming a pivotal part of the reason why people come to Galax for their family vacations.

CCSA preserves and promotes the cultural heritage of southwest Virginia by fostering artistic and individual growth by offering classes in visual and performing arts, heritage and contemporary crafts and traditional music.  Our instructors are selectively chosen on the basis of the mastery of their craft, their experience and strength in teaching and their enthusiasm in sharing what it is they do creatively with others. We intend to continue building what we’ve done well since our inception in 2003 and would like to officially invite you to submit a proposal including your resume, pictures of your work and proposals for workshops you’d like to offer to teach as part of our school.

Please be sure to include an Instructor Profile Questionnaire when submitting your proposal.  You are encouraged to consider submitting more than one proposal as we see gearing various schedules and themes to various markets.

Don’t hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.
From all of us here at the CCSA, thanks for your interest in being part of our community and we look forward to working with you.

All the very best,

Chris Shackelford
