- It has taken seven years, $1 million dollars and roughly the same amount of volunteer hours to build and open this door of opportunity.
- We are the centerpiece of the City of Galax’s downtown revitalization project.
- The former First National Bank building at Main and Grayson Streets in downtown Galax was bought, renovated to ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and historic landmark standards, and has fully-equipped weaving/spinning, drawing/painting, sewing, jewelry-making and lamp-working studios, as well as offices, and space for art exhibitions and performances.
- CCSA and the Oldtown Pottery Guild formed a public-private partnership to transform the property at 110 East Old Town Street in downtown Galax to house the Oldtown Pottery and Co-op.
- Since 2003 approximately 2,000 students have enrolled in classes.
- Hired a full-time Director and Associate Director
- Formed a partnership with JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians).
- 8 new businesses in Galax list CCSA as the reason they chose Galax to locate their business.
